Impressive characteristics of the industrial center

In order to promote exchange and research common issues among small and medium-sized companies in the Tama region, we are constructing a business network. We are currently carrying out testing so that the network may stand as a center of industrial exchange.

Core Approaches and Major Initiatives

As the first stage in supporting industry, we promote vitalization in three core fields.

  • Measuring and Analysis Instrument Industries
  • Semiconductor and Electronic Device Industries
  • Robotics Industry

Marking the creation of a network of businesses applying three forms of robotic technology (sensing technology, artificial intelligence, and drive motor control technology) and the formation of a support network, the Robot Production Exchange Conference was held on Nov. 16th, 2009 in Tachikawa City. Over 200 businesses and universities with interests in pursuing robotics assembled for the event, laying the groundwork for the community. With the intent of using the themes of health and welfare, agricultural environment, and new technology in work-saving and refining of processes, we are gathering opinions in order to place a focus on commercialization of product development and application. These activities allow us grasp the state of the industry by holding appropriate information sessions and discussion panels. Thanks to the requests of many who wish to learn more about the robotics industry, we are planning regular information sessions to be held in 2010.

Coordinator Interview

"With no precedents to guide us, getting this off the ground was a stiff challenge. Our mission, however, is to incorporate a vast range of ideas and opinions in moving into the development of commercialized products."
